Prokazyme is a spin-off from Prokaria (now part of Matis) that sells novel thermostable enzymes for research, diagnostic and industrial testing purposes on the internet. Our goal is to utilize the extensive know-how and expertice built up in Iceland for the last two decades on extremophile genomics and enzyme discovery. This includes vast extising gene databases made by Prokaria and still being maintained and expanded by Matis and Prokazyme. This knowledge base is highly valuable and internationally competitive.

Prokazyme is proud to announce that our high novelty product ThermoPhage® ssDNA ligase has been acquired by Epicentre Biotechnologies in Madison, WI, USA. The enzyme was discovered and developed by Prokaria and has unique efficiency in ligating end-to-end linear RNA and ssDNA fragments as well as being unique in circularizing ssDNA with very high efficiency  Therefore from now on the enzyme will be excusively sold by Epicentre Biotechnologies. We advise our customers to turn to Epicentre Biotechnologies, or its distributors and ask about CircLigase™ ssDNA ligase.

Prokazyme is the exclusive agent for selling and distributing all DNA enzymes and industrial enzymes developed by Prokaria Ltd.

Prokazyme is also developing an expansion internationally by establishing a subsidiary in China. Through collaboration with a previous employee of Prokaria, Dr. Chen Huiping MD, who is now a Professor and Head of Department of Medical Genetics, at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China, we are setting up development and sales subsidiary in China. Professor Huiping holds a Ph.D. in molecular cancer research from the University of Iceland and has also an Icelandic citizenship.
