Thermostable enzyme company - Prokazyme produces and sells novel thermostable enzymes for research, diagnostic and industrial testing purposes on the internet. It was formed in 2006 as a spin-off from Prokaria and is now owned by the private VC Arkea ehf. Prokazyme´s current business assets include own products on market, IP, internet shop, as well as license and distribution agreements with respected companies in the molecular reagents business. Many of our unique enzymes are protected by trademarks and patents, including issued US and European patents. Prokazyme does not run own laboratories but contracts its R&D, enzyme production and QC from Matis ohf. Prokazyme has 2-3 permanent employees and focuses on product sales via internet and on assets management by selling IP, licenses and marketing rights to its know-how and IP. Prokazyme is based on two decades of geothermal bioprospecting and extremophile genomics and enzyme discovery. This includes vast gene databases from thermophilic bacteria and viruses that are continuously expanded by Matis. |

Achievements & EU projects - Prokazyme and Matis scientists have directed the discovery and development of novel products that have reached high visibility on the world market, such as the CircLigase®, a ssDNA ligase sold by Epicentre Biotechnologies Inc as well as the DyNAzyme® DNA polymerase sold by Finnzymes. Prokazyme is now a coordinator for the EU project EXGENOMES and is also participating as a partner in the EU projects AMYLOMICS, TASTE and SeaBioTech Prokazyme is proud to announce that our high novelty product ThermoPhage® ssDNA ligase has been acquired by Epicentre Biotechnologies in Madison, WI, USA. Therefore from now on the enzyme will be excusively sold by Epicentre Biotechnologies. The enzyme was discovered and developed by Prokaria and has unique efficiency in ligating end-to-end linear RNA and ssDNA fragments as well as being unique in circularizing ssDNA with very high efficiency. We advise our customers to turn to Epicentre Biotechnologies, or its distributors and ask about CircLigase™ ssDNA ligase.
